Eighteen-year-old concert pianist Wei Luo visited Colorado for the first time to perform Felix Mendelssohn’s first piano concerto at the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra’s season finale. We met the Chinese-American musician in the Romanesque colonnade in Civic Center Park to chat about music, life in high school, and moving to the States as a young girl to pursue her career as a pianist. Thursday, May 25, Denver Philharmonic’s 69th season finale WHEN IN ROME features the concerto, Tchaikovsky’s “Capriccio Italien,” and Respighi’s “Fountains of Rome” and “Pines of Rome.” Tickets and more info at DenverPhilharmonic.org.
